The Department of Art invites graduating studio arts majors with a 3.40 cumulative and 3.50 major grade point average to apply for honors. To be considered, please submit a portfolio for review to the studio art faculty. Your portfolio should demonstrate a high level of individual creative research along with concept exploration and mastery of processes.
You must submit a portfolio as a single PDF (under 30 MB) that is labeled Firstname_Lastname_HonorsApp and contains the following:
- a title page that includes your name, year of graduation, major(s)/concentrations, and academic advisors
- 8-10 images of artwork/creative research that you made during matriculation.
- Label each image with:
- title
- date
- medium
- dimensions
- Time-based selections must be under 5 minutes total running time and easily accessible via links to Vimeo, YouTube, etc. …
- Label each image with:
- an artist statement (350 word maximum)
- an art resume/CV that highlights exhibitions, research, service, community participation/building
- an optional art-related service statement (350 word maximum)
Honors portfolios are due by 5 p.m., Monday, March 24. Late applications will not be accepted. Please send your portfolio file to Abbey Peters.
