Energy 101: Geothermal Heat Pumps

The largest geothermal system on campus lies under Mac Field and serves both the Humanities and Social Studies Center and Admission and Student Financial Services. The well field contains 124 wells.

A geothermal system heats and cools the natatorium in the Bear Recreation and Athletic Center. The well field is directly west of the building and includes 132 wells.

A geothermal system serves the Environmental Education Center at �ֲ��ý��’s Conard Environmental Research Area; the well field is located under the parking lot.

The campus’s smallest geothermal system serves the �ֲ��ý�� Preschool. The well field is beneath the playground.
