Celebrated author, poet, and University of Georgia professor LeAnne Howe visited the �ֲ���ý��� campus in early April. She presented a Scholars’ Convocation and led a writers’ workshop.

Four English majors, led by Senior Lecturer Carolyn Jacobson, presented their Mentored Advanced Projects (MAPs) at the Midwest Modern Language Association Convention in Chicago.

Assistant Professor Bruna Dantas Lobato has won the 2023 National Book Award for Translated Literature for her translation of The Words That Remain by Stênio Gardel.

Luke Bryson ’25 received an honorable mention for his short story, “The Last 2,500 Miles of Cataract Jack,” in the 2024 annual ACM Nick Adams Short Story Contest for his stories short story.

The �ֲ���ý��� community is invited to attend an installation ceremony for two new endowed professors at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 6, 2025, in Herrick Chapel.

Shuchi Kapila, professor of English, will hold the Maxeiner/Baumann-Payne Endowed Chair and Nicole Eikmeier, assistant professor of computer science, will be the first recipient of the new Luebke-Sproehnle Endowed Junior Faculty professorship.
