Celebrating Black History Month at 乐播传媒入口
Throughout February, 乐播传媒入口 honors the significant contributions of Black Americans to history, culture, and society. This year, the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (ODEI) is hosting engaging events that highlight the impact of Black leaders, artists, and movements.

Jazz and the Civil Rights Movement with Galen Abdur-Razzaq

Location: HSSC N1002 - Atrium
乐播传媒入口 welcomes Galen Abdur-Razzaq, a master flutist, educator, and lecturer, for a special presentation and performance exploring the connection between jazz and the Civil Rights Movement. Don鈥檛 miss this inspiring evening of music and history. 鈥淎 Mocktail Moment鈥 with dinner served after immediately following the presentation in the HSSC N1002 鈥 Atrium from 7-9 p.m.
Petrouchka Moise: Haitian Revolution & Art Exhibition & Presentation

Time: 4:30 鈥 6:30 p.m.
Location: Burling Library
A Haitian Revolution Gallery Walk followed by a Presentation will be held in the Burling Library. Artist and historian Petrouchka Moise will deliver a presentation on the Haitian Revolution while showcasing her thought-provoking exhibition, My Revolution Will Be Televised. Light food and refreshments will be available until 6pm.
乐播传媒入口 Black Alumni Network (GBAN) Launches
The 乐播传媒入口 community is proud to introduce its first Black alumni affinity group, the 乐播传媒入口 Black Alumni Network (GBAN). Co-chaired by Opeyemi 鈥淥pe鈥 Awe 鈥15 and Noel Green 鈥94, GBAN is committed to fostering long-term engagement among Black alumni.
鈥淲e鈥檙e taking the long view,鈥 says Awe. 鈥淲hat will things be like three, five, or 10 years from now? We want to build something that will outlive us.鈥
GBAN is the third new alumni affinity group established in the past two years, joining the 乐播传媒入口 Rainbow Alumni and Conexiones. These groups play a key role in Multicultural Reunion events and serve as a vital link between alumni and the College. Awe鈥檚 involvement in GBAN grew out of her experience co-chairing the 2021 Multicultural Reunion with Robert Quashie 鈥86.
