The Associated Colleges of the Midwest (ACM) recently awarded Nick Phillips, associate professor and associate dean of Curriculum and Academic Programs, an Academic Leadership Fellowship. His appointment will begin on July 1, 2025, marking the start of a two-year term focused on professional development and leadership within higher education.
The ACM Academic Leadership Fellowship, supported by a grant from the Mellon Foundation, aims to cultivate transformative leadership in higher education through mentorship, professional development, and opportunities to collaborate with peers at other liberal arts colleges. Phillips joins a select group of 10 faculty members chosen from the ACM鈥檚 14 member institutions for their potential to lead meaningful change within their institutions.
鈥淚鈥檓 honored to be selected as an ACM fellow,鈥 Phillips said. 鈥淒uring my first year as associate dean, I've been fortunate to have worked with a fantastic team in the Dean's Office that has provided me with mentoring and support in this new role, and I hope that the fellowship is an additional opportunity for me to develop my administrative skills across my portfolio. I鈥檓 excited to continue to work on curricular areas and collaborate closely with my faculty colleagues and staff partners from various offices such as Academic Advising and the Registrar. Having external partners through the ACM will be valuable for my work as I can bring new perspectives to the distinctive, exceptional programs we have at 乐播传媒入口.鈥
乐播传媒入口 will receive funding from the ACM to support Phillips鈥 appointment, including stipends and professional development funds. This financial support will help ensure that Phillips has the time and resources necessary to engage in professional development opportunities, participate in higher education conferences, and further enhance his academic leadership skills.
This appointment reflects 乐播传媒入口's ongoing commitment to developing and nurturing leaders who will shape the future of liberal arts education. Please join us in congratulating Professor Phillips on his appointment.
